After signing up for a photography workshop in Drumheller, I posted in the group that I was driving from Edmonton if anyone needed a ride. I thought why not? Then an attendee inquired and my anxiety set in… at first I was all like “but what if I have nothing to talk about, this could be an awkward 4 hour drive, what if she thinks I’m weird?” But as soon as I arrived she offered to buy me a Starbucks and I knew we would be instant friends.
We have kept in touch since the workshop, I have second shot for her at a number of weddings, and even got to take photos of her and her beautiful fur family. The most exciting thing we did was this styled shoot with the beautiful Avery and Alexis Kooman. We trekked into the woods on cold day in September with bottles of (very cheap) champagne, a wedding dress and beautiful flowers. It took a little getting lost and a lot of almost bails (by yours truly) but the view at the end was SO worth it!
If anyone is looking for the most beautiful location just outside of Banff, check out Peyto Lake… Google tells me this vibrant blue glacier-fed lake, located about 40 km (25 mi) north of Lake Louise in Banff National Park, is a popular stop for visitors travelling along the famed Icefields Parkway. But don’t take mine or Googles word for it… go see this beauty for yourself!
Also, back to my partner in crime for this shoot… If you are looking for an amazing photographer in the Red Deer or Alberta area go check out Ash Maclean Photography, she is absolutely amazing!!
